If you have a column on a list, which allows multiple values, you cannot sort the list based on that column. That particular column is shown as disabled on the list.     In the above list, we have one column that accepts multiple values and are shown as disabled for sorting.   Also any column of type Multiple Lines of Text are not sortable and shown as disabled.

When we installed our new SharePoint farm, we also installed the SharePoint Administration Toolkit. This kit installed a feature called BatchSiteManagerLinks. Since we installed this only on the server with central admin, it seemed that the feaure folder "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\12\TEMPLATE\FEATURES\BatchSiteManagerLinks" got created only on the server with central admin but not on the other servers. After rebuilding our farm environment onto a new server we started receiving these errors on the hour every hour.
