User profile import started throwing error all of a sudden. Be it either full or incremental, it always ends up with the following error in the crawl log. This item could not be crawled because the repository did not respond within the specified timeout period. Multiple timer job error on MOSS 2007. Event ID 6398, 6482, 7076

The problem with above errors are that the event refer to an IIS problem. One of the scenarios this happens is when someone renames a database and makes a site lock on site collection and then forgets to unlock it after restoring.
